State Capital: Raleigh

Highest Point: Mount Mitchell at 6,684 ft above sea level

North Carolina State Flag

North CarolinaThe North Carolina Flag was adopted in 1885. It is red, white & blue with a white star. There are 2 scrolls, the top one says May 20, 1775 and commemorates the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence and the second scroll bears the date April 12,1776 which commemorates the adoption of the Halifax Resolves—the first official action by a colony calling for independence from Britain.
