The North Carolina Coast

On the North Carolina coast you can find the birthplace of Virginia Dare, the evolution of modern flight, and many other landmarks. As you plan a trip tothe coast, you will see there are many activities—whether ferry rides or fishing, walking on the beach or riding the waves, there is something for everyone.

There are two primary ways to explore the coast. You can choose a location to stay and visit area attractions or you can simply drive place to place, stopping whenever you find something of interest to you. The beaches of North Carolina offer the simplicity of sand, sun, ocean waves and balmy breezes as you relax and rejuvenate.

At the Wilmington, Wrightsville, Carolina and Atlantic beach areas there are many restaurants, bars, game rooms and shops sure to offer something for everyone’s interest. There are many hotels, inns, and bed and breakfast to rest where you can unwind. Farther up the North Carolina coast is the region referred to as the Outer Banks. Here you can see NC’s historic light houses, visit the Lost Colony and many other historical landmarks. Another favorite past time in the outer banks is fishing its many waterways either from the piers or by boat. There are many beaches for picnicking, sun bathing and other water related activities as well. So, grab your towels, swimsuit, and sunscreen and set your sights on our sand and surf! You’ll be glad you did.
