North Carolina Tourism
Have you ever got up on a perfect Saturday in the fall
and felt like hiking through paths hedged by trees adorned
by gold and red leaves? Or maybe you awakened on a sultry
Sunday and longed for the shifting sands and sounds
of the beach? For those who live in the Piedmont region
of North Carolina, then these places are only a few short
hours away.
North Carolina can be divided into three regions-the Mountains,
the piedmont, and the North Carolina Coast
and each of them have attractions that can be enjoyed by
all. There are many family friendly activities, fairs and
festivals to visit, as well as the joy nature provides at
the beach or the mountains. In NC's cities there are museums,
fine restaurants, and other cultural events to enjoy
. If history is your pleasure, then head to the outer banks
to see the Lost Colony, visit the Wright
Brothers Memorial or tour the Elizabeth II. In the mountain
region, you can visit the Oconaluftee
Indian Village and Living History Museum and see the
Unto These Hills drama (performed from June until August)
at the outdoor amphitheatre.
North Carolina is the birthplace of three of our country's Presidents - Andrew
Jackson, Andrew Johnson, and James A. Polk. Other famous
North Carolinians include TV personalities David Brinkley,

Travis: sportsmen Richard Petty and Sugar Ray Leonard, and
